Bio
Hi there! I’m Matthew.
I have always been creating, ever since I could grasp a crayon in my stubby fingers as a toddler. I started taking art classes when I was 10 and always dreamed of supporting myself through my art. However, “life” interfered and I was able to find less and less time to draw and paint.
Searching for a “safe and secure” career, I began working on an Accounting degree. Then I discovered that I was only happy when I was creating, that I have to create; I am only complete when I am creating. I needed to switch gears. Now my minors in Business and Art History will nicely complement my BA in Art-Studio.
Artist’s Statement
I appreciate the finer things in life: a loved one’s smile, a beautiful sunset, or a perfect flower. My intent is to capture the fleeting feelings brought on by such moments, so that they can be experienced again and again. Through these captured feelings, viewers can be connected to the subject through my work.
